B2B Wholesale Portal - Starter
Your wholesale website.
Your brand.
A clear starting scope.
Visitors can explore your public product catalogue, while approved wholesale buyers can view pricing, place orders and reorder. We adapt the Starter template to your business and manage the technology behind it.
You manage the business. MDH manages the agreed website technology.
See the scope first, then explore the example. A demo feature is not an automatic entitlement unless it is included in your agreed package.
Built for straightforward wholesale ordering.
Starter suits one business with a standard wholesale price structure, approved buyers and a manageable catalogue. It is not a bespoke enterprise operating system.
We prepare your website
Your branding, the included pages, an agreed initial catalogue, buyer access, checkout and launch testing.
We manage the technology
Contracted hosting, software care, security controls, backup arrangements and technical support.
You stay in control
You approve buyers, set commercial rules, manage stock and orders, verify payments and fulfil purchases.
A branded implementation, not a website built from scratch.
The demo shows a starting design and ordering model. Your website uses your business identity and approved content within that framework.

| What changes | What stays within the Starter framework |
|---|---|
| Your identity | Logo, colours, site name, contact details and agreed typography replace the example business identity. |
| Your content and catalogue | Supplied copy, approved images, products, pricing, policies and contact recipients replace demonstration information. |
| Your commercial settings | The agreed buyer rules, standard pricing, case units, payment, tax and shipping configuration are applied and tested. |
| The baseline layout and software | The reusable template and included workflows remain the starting point. A new visual concept or unsupported workflow is a separate scope. |
| Demo-only material | Demo banner, fictional contacts, irrelevant sample products, test orders/users and demonstration-only integrations are removed from the client deployment. |
Pages and screens included in the starting website
| Area | Starting pages / screens | Scope boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Business pages | Home; About; Wholesale Program with a How to Order / FAQ section; Contact; one additional existing template content page where agreed. | Existing template layout blocks are adapted to supplied content. Initial setup includes up to five business-content pages. Catalogue, checkout, account and policy screens are separate from that allowance, as detailed in the initial implementation scope. |
| Buyer entry | Apply for Wholesale Account; buyer login and password-recovery flow. | Login and reset screens may be generated by the platform rather than built as additional custom WordPress pages. |
| Catalogue | One main catalogue, product categories and individual product views. | Generated product/category views use the shared template. Avoid duplicate competing Shop and Wholesale Catalog experiences. |
| Ordering | Basic Quick Order; Cart; Checkout; order-confirmation view. | Quick Order and the catalogue lead to the same cart. Order-confirmation views are generated, not additional bespoke pages. |
| My Account | Account overview; orders and order details; billing/shipping addresses; account details; eligible reorder access. | Account sections are system views, not individually designed landing pages. |
| Policy pages | Privacy Policy; Terms and Conditions; Wholesale Terms; Shipping & Fulfilment; Order & Refund Policy. | Populate and link client-approved policies. Legal advice, a legal-compliance guarantee and original legal drafting are not included. |
| Business management | The configured private Operations Dashboard and approved management screens. | For authorized operators only; not linked in the public buyer menu. Internal technical SOPs are not public pages. |
| Not part of the standard launch | Build Your Box, a custom resource library, unlimited landing pages, multilingual versions or a redesigned blog. | Additional pages or functionality require an approved scope. Initial setup includes publication of up to two completed, client-supplied blog or news posts. Copywriting and ongoing editorial services are excluded. |
The demo is an example, not an unrestricted menu of features. Any advanced demonstration must be labelled separately from the Starter baseline.
What the package includes - and what it does not.
Read the outcome, the configured feature and the boundary together. Software capabilities, setup labour and ongoing service are not interchangeable.
A. Hosting, domain, email and capacity
| Area | Included service | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| Managed website | One branded WordPress + WooCommerce wholesale website. | For one business storefront and its agreed primary domain. Additional websites are separate services. |
| Canadian hosting | Managed Canadian hosting for the website application and database, with MDH handling platform administration. | A managed shared environment, not a dedicated server or exclusive CPU. Email, payment, backup or other external services may process data outside Canada; this is not an all-data-in-Canada guarantee. |
| Live website storage | Up to 10 GB of live website storage for one managed WordPress website, including WordPress files, installed themes and plugins, uploaded media, product images and the website database. | The 10 GB allowance applies to the total live website storage, not separately to each component. Off-server MDH backups do not count toward this allowance. Business mailboxes have their own specified storage quotas. Additional storage requirements may require a package upgrade or separately quoted resources. |
| Performance and data transfer | Standard Managed Performance on MDH-managed shared infrastructure, with a configured per-website resource limit of 1 vCPU and 1 GB RAM. No fixed monthly data-transfer cap for normal business website traffic. MDH manages the server environment and supported performance optimizations. | CPU and RAM limits are not dedicated or reserved resources. Actual performance depends on website activity and infrastructure capacity. No guaranteed visitor capacity, transaction throughput or page-loading speed is included. Data transfer is subject to reasonable use. Excessive usage may require a capacity review or an agreed upgrade. No automatic bandwidth overage charges apply; additional charges require prior client approval. |
| Domain connection | Connect an existing domain, register a new one or arrange an eligible transfer. | One standard eligible domain registration or transfer is included for the first year on monthly or annual billing. Premium domains are excluded; subsequent renewals are billed separately. Registry eligibility still applies. |
| HTTPS / SSL | Certificate installation, HTTPS configuration and managed renewal for the agreed website domain. | Requires valid domain control and working DNS. SSL protects transport; it does not guarantee that a business or website can never be compromised. |
| Business mailboxes | 2 professional email mailboxes using your business domain, with 2 GB of storage per mailbox (4 GB combined). Mailbox storage is separate from the website's 10 GB storage allowance. | Each mailbox has a fixed 2 GB quota, including stored messages and attachments. Unused capacity cannot be transferred between mailboxes. When a mailbox reaches its limit, incoming messages may be rejected until space is freed or capacity is increased. Additional mailboxes or storage require an upgrade or separate quotation. Bulk marketing, email archiving, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and desktop email software are not included. |
| Email forwarders | Up to 5 forwarding addresses. | A forwarder is not another mailbox or additional storage. Delivery also depends on the receiving provider. |
| Website notifications | MDH configures and tests transactional website email delivery through a managed SMTP service. This includes supported WooCommerce order notifications, wholesale buyer application notifications, account registration and password-reset messages, and contact-form notifications. Sending is configured using an authorized, authenticated sender identity for the client's website. | This service is intended for routine website-generated transactional and operational notifications only. Bulk marketing emails, newsletters, promotional campaigns and mass mailing are not included. Sending is subject to MDH's acceptable-use policy and the email provider's applicable limits. Successful delivery to every recipient is not guaranteed. Advanced email automation, high-volume sending and dedicated marketing email services require a separate quotation. |
| Preview environment | A private staging preview used by MDH for the initial website build, client review and agreed corrections before launch. | This is not an additional customer production website, permanent development environment or unrestricted hosting account. Staging is managed by MDH as part of the website delivery process. |
| Backups and recovery | MDH-managed automatic off-server backups of the website and its database, using Canadian-region backup storage. Backups are configured with a maximum-age target of 24 hours and retention of up to 30 days. Website restoration requests are coordinated by MDH. | Backups are not continuous, permanent archives or a guarantee against data loss. Backup intervals may occasionally exceed their target, and restoration depends on the availability of a valid backup. Recovery assistance, applicable charges and restoration arrangements are governed by the managed-service terms. No guaranteed recovery time or zero-data-loss commitment is included. |
| Technical management | MDH provides ongoing technical management of the hosted WordPress website, including supported software updates, security maintenance, backup management, performance configuration and technical troubleshooting. Support requests may be submitted 24/7 through the MDH support ticket system. Staffed support hours are Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM Eastern Time, excluding MDH-observed Canadian holidays. | Standard support requests have a target initial response within 1 business day (8 business hours). Critical website outages receive priority during staffed support hours. After-hours emergency assistance is provided on a best-effort basis, subject to availability. Response targets are not guaranteed resolution times. Business operations, custom development, additional design work, content management and third-party service issues outside MDH's responsibility are excluded unless separately agreed. |
B. Website foundation, performance and protection
| Capability | What MDH configures / manages | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| Website foundation | Configure site identity, timezone, homepage, navigation, URLs, privacy-page links and the approved template. | A configured business website, not a bare WordPress installation. |
| Responsive presentation | Adapt the template to your logo, colours, supplied images and content; review key desktop and mobile layouts. | Template adaptation is included. Original art direction, new bespoke layouts and a full redesign require a separate scope. |
| Image and front-end optimization | Use the tested optimization profile and appropriately sized images; verify fonts, icons, layouts and key pages. | No fixed speed score, search ranking or universal page-load guarantee. Aggressive optimizations are not enabled where they break ordering or design. |
| Safe commerce caching | Configure caching so buyer-specific pricing, carts, checkout and account information remain correct. | The priority is correct private transactions, not caching every page. Extra database or object-cache services are not promised merely because the platform supports them. |
| Login protection | MDH configures the approved login experience, failed-login protection and role-based authentication security. Production websites include authenticator-app two-factor authentication for MDH administrators and designated client management accounts, configured during onboarding. | Two-factor authentication is required for designated administrative and management roles, but not for ordinary wholesale buyers by default. Additional authentication methods, including passkeys, social login and passwordless access, are not automatically included. Account recovery follows MDH's managed security procedures. |
| Permissions and administration | Separate buyer access, client management access and MDH technical administration; test relevant access boundaries. | Client managers receive the permitted business and design tools. Plugin installation, code and managed recovery remain MDH responsibilities. |
| Application and form protection | Apply the supported anti-spam and validation controls to the included forms and test legitimate submissions. | Spam is reduced, not eliminated. Business verification and buyer approval remain your responsibility. |
| Hosting-level protection | MDH maintains hosting-level security protections, including supported firewall controls, malware detection, platform security updates and appropriate server hardening. MDH reviews relevant security alerts and provides initial investigation and reasonable containment of suspected security incidents affecting the managed website. | Security protections reduce risk but cannot prevent every attack or compromise. Incident investigation and response follow the published support arrangements, including best-effort after-hours assistance. Initial technical investigation and reasonable containment are included. Extensive malware remediation, forensic investigations, custom website reconstruction and third-party account recovery may require a separately agreed scope and quotation. Corrective work resulting from MDH's failure to perform its contracted managed responsibilities will be assessed as MDH's responsibility, subject to the applicable service terms. |
| Recovery and updates | Maintain approved components and recovery arrangements; take appropriate precautions before material changes. | Update availability is not the same as immediate installation of every release. Third-party changes can require testing or replacement. |
| Branded management workspace | Provide the configured Operations Dashboard, relevant order/application views and links to approved management screens. | This is a restricted management workspace, not a separate custom-built ERP or an unrestricted hosting control panel. |
| Managed software | Use the components needed to deliver the contracted features, including applicable agency-managed premium components. | An installed plugin does not mean every feature or integration it offers is included. Vendor licence keys, vendor accounts and agency-wide subscriptions are not transferred. |
C. Wholesale ordering and business functions
| Function | Starter implementation | Not implied by inclusion |
|---|---|---|
| Public website and product preview | The Starter website presents your business, wholesale program and products approved for public display. Visitors can browse the public product catalogue without logging in, while wholesale prices and purchasing are restricted to signed-in, approved wholesale buyers. MDH confirms the intended catalogue visibility during onboarding. | Hiding wholesale prices is different from restricting access to the entire product catalogue. A fully private, login-only catalogue, buyer-specific product visibility or different catalogue access rules are not included in the standard Starter configuration unless separately agreed. |
| Buyer application | One wholesale application flow collects the agreed business and contact information and sends the configured notification. | No automatic business, tax-number or credit verification. |
| Manual buyer approval | Your authorized manager reviews applications and grants access to approved buyers. | Submitting a form is not automatic approval. You decide eligibility and handle declined or incomplete applications. |
| One wholesale buyer model | One standard wholesale price structure for approved buyers. | Separate retailer, distributor or institutional price lists are not part of the standard Starter implementation. |
| Product catalogue | Product names, descriptions, SKUs, images, categories, price, case/unit wording and supported stock settings. | The initial data-entry allowance is separate from the number of products the software can technically hold. |
| Case-pack ordering | Configure a case or pack as the agreed sellable product unit and explain what each ordered quantity represents. | One case of 12 is not the same as a live unit-to-case inventory conversion. Variable weight, mixed-case builders and advanced multiple/step rules need assessment. |
| Minimum-order rules | Configure the agreed basic order threshold and test enforcement at checkout. | The amount, tax/shipping treatment and exceptions must be approved. Complex role-specific, quantity-tier or allocation rules are outside standard Starter scope. |
| Quick Order | A basic searchable ordering table connected to the same catalogue and cart, as in the current Starter build. | Basic Quick Order functionality is included in Starter. Buyer CSV uploads, saved purchasing lists, custom bulk-order workflows, advanced quantity-based pricing and specialized ordering interfaces are not included. These capabilities may be assessed and quoted separately. |
| Cart and checkout | Buyers review items, quantities, addresses, applicable charges and the agreed payment/shipping options. | Checkout is gated to the approved buyer model. No marketplace sellers, complex purchasing approvals or custom checkout application. |
| Payments | MDH configures one supported online payment gateway connected to the client's own merchant account and one standard offline payment method as part of the included Starter setup. The client completes merchant verification and securely authorizes the payment-provider connection without disclosing account passwords or verification codes to MDH. MDH configures and tests the website integration before launch. | You own the merchant account, complete verification and pay processor fees. E-transfer or invoice instructions do not automatically reconcile a bank payment or create a credit ledger. |
| Tax calculations | Configure tax options, product tax classes and applicable rules from your approved instructions; test representative orders. | Technical setup is not tax advice, registration, filing or remittance. A third-party automated-tax service is included only when explicitly named in the order. |
| Shipping and pickup | As part of the included Starter initial setup, MDH configures up to three agreed shipping zones and up to two standard WooCommerce shipping-method types, such as flat-rate shipping and local pickup. The client provides and approves the applicable shipping rates, pickup locations and delivery instructions. MDH tests the configured methods during checkout. | Live carrier rates, freight brokerage, routing, labels and complex multi-warehouse fulfilment are not automatically included. |
| Buyer account | Buyer login, account details, billing/shipping addresses, order history and order-detail views. | A buyer account is not a multi-user company purchasing hierarchy with budgets or approval chains. |
| Repeat ordering | Buyers can rebuild an eligible completed order through the configured order-again flow. | New orders use current product availability, prices, taxes and shipping. This is not a recurring subscription, standing order or price lock. |
| Orders and inventory | Authorized managers review orders, update supported order statuses, use order notes and maintain the supported stock quantities. | The business verifies offline payments, handles refunds/chargebacks and fulfils orders. No procurement, batch/expiry traceability or warehouse management system is included. |
| Forms and enquiries | The included contact and application forms feed the permitted management views and notification recipients. | MDH does not respond to your buyers or provide your customer-service team. |
| Basic product options | MDH configures one agreed simple product-option set with up to three basic fields as part of the included Starter initial setup. The option fields and their intended use are confirmed during onboarding. | The allowance defines the initial configuration work, not a permanent limit on the software's capabilities. Additional option sets, complex conditional logic, advanced option-based pricing, print-on-demand workflows, product bundles and Build Your Box functionality are not included in the standard Starter setup and require separate assessment. |
| Business dashboard and reports | The tested dashboard provides access to relevant orders, applications, enquiries, catalogue tools and standard commerce reports. | No custom financial reporting, accounting reconciliation or bespoke business intelligence dashboard. |

Define the work included in the setup fee.
The Starter package includes a clearly defined initial website implementation for a one-time setup fee. The following table specifies the work MDH will perform, the included quantities, and the boundaries of the service. These allowances define the initial setup work—not necessarily the permanent functionality or capacity of your website. Additional requirements can be assessed and quoted separately.
| Deliverable | Included in Starter Setup | Scope and Exclusions |
|---|---|---|
| Branding | One website adapted from the MDH Starter template using your supplied logo, agreed brand colours and typography, business name and contact information. Your supplied images are added within the agreed page and product setup allowances. | Includes adapting the existing Starter template to your business—not designing a new website from scratch. Logo creation, a new visual design concept and custom page layouts are available by separate quotation. |
| Business content | Populate up to 5 existing Starter-template business-content pages with your final supplied text and images, plus up to 2 completed client-supplied blog or news posts. The selected pages are identified in the agreed setup scope before work begins. | The catalogue, Quick Order, cart, checkout, buyer application, login and account screens, together with configuration of the listed policy pages using your approved wording, are separate from this five-page allowance. Content is placed within the existing template layouts. Original copywriting, translation, new custom page layouts and additional content-entry work are available by separate quotation. |
| Initial products | Initial catalogue setup includes either up to 20 simple products entered manually by MDH, or one clean client-supplied CSV import containing up to 100 simple SKUs. Product names, descriptions, SKUs, prices, case-pack information, categories and usable product images must be supplied in final form by the client. | This allowance covers initial launch setup only; it is not a permanent limit on how many products the website can contain. Complex variable products, large image-cleanup work, data normalization, custom product configurators, bulk catalogue restructuring and additional manual product entry are outside the standard Starter setup and can be quoted separately. |
| Categories and images | Create up to 5 product categories and assign up to 3 client-supplied images per product (1 primary image and up to 2 gallery images) within the agreed initial product setup allowance. | The client must provide final, properly licensed product images, clearly identified and matched to the corresponding products or SKUs. For CSV imports, images must be accessible and correctly mapped. MDH handles basic image placement within the existing product templates. Photography, image sourcing, background removal, extensive editing, manual data cleanup and additional categories or image-entry work are excluded and may be quoted separately. |
| Existing buyers | Import and configure up to 25 existing wholesale buyer accounts from one correctly formatted, client-supplied CSV file. Each record must include the buyer's business name, contact name, valid email address and any other required account information. All imported buyers will use the standard Starter wholesale pricing structure. | The client is responsible for providing accurate buyer information and confirming authorization to transfer and use that information. Buyers receive secure account activation or password-setup instructions; existing passwords are not transferred. Historical orders, payment records, customer-specific pricing, extensive data cleanup and additional account migrations are excluded and may be quoted separately. Marketing consent must be handled separately. |
| Commercial rules | Configure one standard wholesale pricing structure for all approved buyers, using client-supplied product prices. Includes setup and testing of up to 2 agreed basic ordering or pricing rules supported by the Starter package, such as a minimum order value and a minimum product quantity or case-pack multiple requirement. | The client must supply and approve all wholesale prices, minimum order requirements and applicable business rules before configuration. Starter supports one common wholesale pricing structure, not separate pricing for individual buyers or buyer groups. Customer-specific price lists, advanced volume discounts, complex conditional pricing, multiple discount combinations and custom pricing calculations are excluded and may require Growth, Advanced or a separate quotation. |
| Product options | Configure up to 1 basic product option set containing a maximum of 3 simple selection or input fields, where required for the client's products. Options may include straightforward choices such as packaging type, product size or a simple customer selection, using functionality supported by the Starter package. | The client supplies the required option names, choices and any applicable price adjustments. Configuration uses existing supported functionality without custom development. Conditional options, complex product configurators, Build Your Box functionality, advanced pricing calculations, dependent selections and additional option sets are excluded and may require Growth, Advanced or a separate quotation. |
| Shipping | Configure up to 3 geographic shipping zones and up to 2 standard WooCommerce shipping method types across those zones, such as flat-rate shipping and local pickup. MDH will configure and test the agreed shipping rules using the rates, service areas and instructions supplied by the client. | The client is responsible for defining shipping areas, rates, pickup locations, delivery restrictions and fulfilment policies. Configuration uses standard supported shipping functionality. Live carrier-rate calculations, freight quotations, dimensional-weight pricing, shipping-label generation, delivery-route optimization, complex conditional shipping rules and third-party logistics integrations are excluded and may require Growth, Advanced or a separate quotation. |
| Payments | Configure and test up to 1 supported online payment processor (such as Stripe) connected to the client's own merchant account, plus 1 basic offline payment method, such as Interac e-Transfer or payment by invoice. Configuration includes payment instructions, relevant order-status behaviour and basic checkout testing. | The client must establish, own, verify and maintain their payment-processing account, banking details and payment instructions. Transaction fees are separate. Offline payments require manual verification by the client. Automatic bank reconciliation, customer credit accounts, advanced payment terms, multiple payment gateways, custom payment integrations and automated collections are excluded and may require Growth, Advanced or a separate quotation. |
| Forms and management | Configure 1 wholesale buyer application form with manual approval workflow, 1 business contact form, and 1 primary client manager account with the appropriate business-management permissions. Includes configuration of standard form notifications, account access and testing of the buyer application and approval process using the existing Starter template functionality. | The client supplies business contact details, notification recipients and buyer approval requirements. The client is responsible for reviewing and approving wholesale applications and managing business users after launch. Additional custom forms, complex conditional workflows, third-party integrations, custom dashboards, advanced automation and additional staff-role configuration are excluded from the initial setup allowance and may be quoted separately. |
| Review and handover | Includes 1 consolidated round of in-scope revisions following the client's review of the staging website, plus 1 remote handover and training session of up to 45 minutes. Training covers the main business-management functions, including managing wholesale buyers, products, orders and routine website content. | The client must submit requested revisions together in one consolidated list. Revisions must remain within the agreed Starter template, features and implementation scope. Corrections of MDH implementation errors against the approved specification are included and do not count toward the revision allowance. Additional design changes, new functionality, extra revision rounds, extended training and additional staff training sessions may be quoted separately. |
What “client-supplied” means
Final text, usable images with permission to publish, a completed product sheet, approved prices and pack units, lawful buyer records and approved business policies.
Cleaning inconsistent spreadsheets, rewriting descriptions, creating photography and repairing incomplete data are not assumed to be included.
What a revision means
One consolidated set of changes to the agreed implementation before launch. A new page concept, additional workflow or a changed commercial brief is a scope change.
An MDH implementation error against the accepted specification is a defect to correct, not a reason to consume the client's revision allowance.
Know what happens next - and where your approval is needed.
Your MDH project view shows milestones, progress and the next action. Detailed technical work remains on the staff delivery checklist.
The detailed workflow below groups the existing delivery responsibilities into six client-visible stages. It does not expose server administration, licence credentials or internal technical notes.
01. Purchase, domain and project setup
G0 - purchase and domain authorization
| Task | MDH action | Your action | Completion condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Confirm your order | Verify package, payment, billing cycle, setup fee and the saved scope version. | Review the price, scope and exclusions; identify the authorized representative. | Purchase and scope record are complete. |
| Confirm your domain | Record registration, transfer or existing-domain connection and check continuity risks. | Approve exact spelling and authorize the required registrar/DNS actions. | The domain path is documented; a pending transfer does not necessarily block staging. |
| Open your project | Link your Project Reference, onboarding conversation and progress board. | Sign in to the MDH Client Area and check the contact details. | Both sides use the same project reference. |
| Confirm delivery inputs | Send the existing onboarding form and a specific missing-information checklist. | Supply content, branding, products, approved buyers and business rules. | Required information has been received or identified as outstanding. |
02. Agree the setup and prepare a clean website
G1 - scope and onboarding approval
| Task | MDH action | Your action | Completion condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Validate your information | Check product files, image access, supplied policies and agreed quantities. | Correct incomplete data and confirm permission to use supplied content and buyer records. | Inputs meet the agreed template and scope. |
| Confirm scope and decisions | Record the included pages, features, setup allowances, roles and separately quoted items. | Approve the exact scope and nominate the decision-maker. | G1 approval is recorded; no silent expansion of scope. |
| Create your private preview | Deploy the approved clean Starter template into an isolated staging site. | No routine technical action is required. | The preview is access-controlled, not indexed and not taking live payments. |
| Remove demo information | Remove sample users, orders, submissions, credentials and irrelevant example content. | Confirm that only your authorized business information should remain. | No demo or other-business operational data is carried into the live site. |
03. Brand the site and configure your business
G2 - commercial configuration approval
| Task | MDH action | Your action | Completion condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apply your branding | Set business identity, logo, colours, header, footer, navigation and supplied content. | Review factual information and provide licensed assets. | The agreed template reflects your business. |
| Build your catalogue | Create/import the agreed products, categories, images, SKUs, case units and stock values. | Approve catalogue accuracy, prices, pack contents and stock assumptions. | Initial product data matches the approved input. |
| Configure access and pricing | Set buyer applications, manual approval, the standard price structure, minimums and basic Quick Order. | Approve buyer eligibility and every ordering/pricing rule. | Guest, applicant and approved-buyer behaviour is defined and tested. |
| Configure payments, taxes and delivery | Connect supported payment methods and apply approved tax and shipping instructions. | Authorize the merchant connection and approve sample order calculations. | G2 approval is recorded; live activation still waits for launch authorization. |
| Configure communication and management | Set notification recipients, included mailboxes, contact forms, dashboard and permitted management access. | Confirm recipients, manager details and email/domain authorizations. | Account, form and order messages plus management functions pass testing. |
| Verify the technical foundation | Check HTTPS readiness, backups, platform protection, optimization and the managed update configuration. | Activate personal login safeguards and keep credentials secure. | The technical commissioning checklist is complete. |
04. Test, review and agree corrections
G3 - staging acceptance
| Task | MDH action | Your action | Completion condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Test complete journeys | Test guest restrictions, buyer application/login, products, Quick Order, cart, checkout and reorder. | Try the agreed buyer and manager scenarios on the private preview. | The agreed end-to-end workflows behave correctly. |
| Test money and messages | Verify prices, options, taxes, shipping, payment status and notification delivery together. | Approve representative business calculations and recipient details. | No unresolved launch-blocking transaction errors. |
| Review the website | Provide the preview link and a focused review checklist. | Send one consolidated list of feedback through the project conversation. | Feedback is recorded against a specific review version. |
| Complete in-scope corrections | Fix implementation defects and apply the included revision round; quote new requests separately. | Accept corrections or approve a separate change quotation. | G3 acceptance is recorded for the reviewed version. |
05. Authorize and launch
G4 - explicit permission to publish
| Task | MDH action | Your action | Completion condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Request launch authorization | Present the final version, target domain, readiness checks and any agreed limitations. | Explicitly authorize publication and the agreed live services. | G4 is recorded. Silence is not launch approval. |
| Prepare a safe cutover | Take the agreed recovery point and verify DNS, existing email and target-site data. | Authorize outstanding domain/DNS changes and confirm operational readiness. | The cutover will not unintentionally destroy existing data or disrupt email. |
| Publish the website | Connect the production domain, verify HTTPS, enable approved live services and set indexing correctly. | Complete any remaining merchant/provider verification. | The live domain serves the approved website. |
| Verify the live result | Retest representative live-domain journeys, notices, checkout and manager access; reconcile test records. | Confirm business details and the ability to receive genuine orders. | Production verification is recorded, not assumed from staging success. |
06. Handover and ongoing service
G5 - handover acceptance
| Task | MDH action | Your action | Completion condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Provide access and orientation | Deliver the manager link, buyer-use instructions, support route and agreed training. | Attend the handover and test your account. | You can carry out the agreed routine tasks. |
| Record final delivery | Record delivered pages, quantities, rules, active features and any accepted outstanding items. | Confirm receipt and acceptance or identify a specific unresolved issue. | G5 is recorded and onboarding can close. |
| Maintain the technology | Provide contracted hosting, updates, protection, monitoring, backup and technical support. | Keep billing/contact details current and report issues. | The website transitions into managed service. |
| Run your wholesale business | Keep the supported platform available; assess extra work when requested. | Manage buyers, products, prices, stock, orders, payments, fulfilment and buyer enquiries. | Business responsibilities remain with you. |
| Request future changes | Assess upgrades or changes and quote work outside the agreed service. | Approve additional fees and scope before that work begins. | No unapproved custom-work charge or silent scope change. |
Your approval matters.
At important stages of your website setup, we'll ask you to review and approve what has been prepared. You'll receive a clear message in your MDH Client Area explaining what needs your approval.
Simply review the information and reply with your approval or let us know what needs changing. We'll record your decision and guide you through the next steps.
Your website will never be launched without your explicit approval. Simply viewing a preview or not responding does not count as approval.
One progress view
Your project shows what is complete, what is underway, what is waiting for you and the next required decision. Read-only progress access does not require WordPress administrator access.
A realistic launch schedule
The target date is agreed after the scope and required inputs are confirmed. Missing content, processor verification, domain actions, feedback delays and added work can change the schedule.
A managed website is not outsourced business management.
Your service keeps the agreed technology supported. You retain the commercial decisions and daily operation of your business.
| Area | MDH responsibility | Your responsibility |
|---|---|---|
| Website technology | Hosting, supported software, approved updates, technical controls, backup/recovery arrangements and technical support. | Use authorized accounts, maintain login safeguards and report issues. |
| Content and products | The approved initial setup; technical assistance within the contracted service. | Accuracy, rights to images/copy, prices, inventory, ongoing catalogue and content changes. |
| Buyers and orders | The configured application, account and ordering tools. | Review and approve buyers; respond to enquiries; process orders and resolve buyer disputes. |
| Payments and fulfilment | Technical payment/shipping configuration and agreed testing. | Merchant verification, charges, refunds, chargebacks, offline payment checks, packing, shipping and delivery promises. |
| Tax and legal policies | Implement your approved instructions and policy content. | Obtain advice when needed, decide legal/tax obligations, approve disclosures and maintain compliance. |
| Changes and growth | Assess impact, explain options and quote additional work before starting. | Approve changes, fees and schedule impacts; do not treat new requirements as original scope. |
What ongoing technical care covers - and what requires a quote
| Included technical service | Separate business or change work |
|---|---|
| Maintain the supported website stack and investigate technical faults. | Recurring product entry, copywriting, campaigns, social-media management or responding to your customers. |
| Maintain contracted hosting, backup arrangements and security controls. | New integrations, unsupported plugins, major performance engineering or a separate development environment. |
| Technical support for the configured service through the MDH support channel. | Unlimited design revisions, new templates, custom reports, data cleansing or staff training beyond the included session. |
| Assess requested improvements or capacity requirements. | Additional functionality, labour, third-party subscriptions or migration work not included in your order. |
A clear upgrade path. Custom work by quotation.
Choose the level that fits today, with a documented route for future requirements.
Online wholesale ordering
One standard wholesale price structure, approved buyers and the defined initial implementation.
Broader buyer operations
Assess multiple buyer groups, expanded ordering tools and greater hosting capacity against the Growth specification.
More involved workflows
Assess account structures, approvals and operational requirements. ERP, EDI and custom integrations are separate unless expressly quoted.
| Change | How it is handled |

| Higher capacity or features | When requirements exceed Starter scope or resource capacity, MDH assesses the available options. Depending on technical feasibility, the solution may involve a separately quoted enhancement, additional hosting resources or a package upgrade. Scope, charges and effective dates are agreed before changes begin. |
| Upgrade implementation | An upgrade may involve configuration, data mapping, testing and migration, not just changing a billing label. Any implementation fee and the effective subscription date are stated before you approve. |
| Plan changes | Requests to change service levels or hosting capacity are assessed for technical compatibility, data protection and implementation requirements. MDH explains available options, any necessary migration work, charges and effective dates before the client approves. Cancellation and data-export rights remain governed by the applicable service terms. |
| Custom building | Extra pages, a bespoke design, additional catalogue preparation or custom workflows can be quoted separately. The proposal states deliverables, acceptance tests, dependencies, fees, maintenance and ownership/licensing terms. |
| Ongoing cost of additions | A feature may have both a one-time implementation cost and additional ongoing support, resource or third-party fees. These are disclosed before work begins. |
Need something outside Starter?
Describe the additional feature or design requirement. We will identify the appropriate package or prepare a separate scope.
Common questions, answered plainly.
Is this an entirely custom-designed website?
No. Starter is a branded implementation of the demonstrated template and agreed workflows. Your content and business identity replace the example material. A new design concept, bespoke interface or substantial restructuring is separately quoted.
Does everything visible in the demo come with Starter?
No. The demo illustrates Starter capabilities alongside examples of more advanced functionality. Starter includes one standard wholesale pricing structure, Basic Quick Order and the defined basic product-option allowance. Multiple buyer-price groups, advanced ordering workflows and other enhancements require separate agreement. Your accepted Starter scope determines what is included.
Can my manager update the site?
Your authorized manager receives the permitted business and design tools in the configured workspace. MDH retains managed technical administration. Access is assigned by role, and not every underlying plugin screen is a client feature.
Are Quick Order and product options included?
Yes. Starter includes a basic searchable Quick Order table connected to your catalogue and cart. Initial setup includes one simple product-option set with up to three basic fields. Advanced bulk ordering, saved purchasing lists, buyer spreadsheet uploads and complex product configurations are not included unless separately agreed.
Are tax and shipping automatically taken care of?
MDH configures the approved rules and tests calculations. You decide the tax treatment, selling areas, rates, policies and fulfilment commitments, obtaining professional advice as needed. Automated calculations do not replace tax compliance.
Does invoice / e-transfer checkout mean automated credit management?
No. Buyers can submit an order using the agreed offline instructions, but your team verifies payment and updates the order appropriately. Credit limits, net-term accounting, collections and automated bank reconciliation are not standard Starter features.
Do I own my business data?
Your supplied content, catalogue and business data remain yours, subject to applicable rights and law. MDH includes assistance with one standard supported business-data export bundle per calendar month upon request, at no additional charge. Custom exports, complete website migrations and third-party software licensing remain subject to the applicable service terms.
What happens to premium software when I leave?
Agency-owned vendor accounts, keys and support/update subscriptions are not transferred. Continued updates or vendor support may require your own licences. The actual continuing use rights depend on each licence; ending MDH service does not automatically mean every plugin stops working.
What happens if I cancel?
You can stop future subscription renewals through your MDH Billing Account or by contacting MDH billing support.
To avoid the next renewal charge, cancellation must take effect before that renewal is processed. Unless otherwise agreed or required by law, your managed service generally continues until the end of the current paid subscription period.
Refunds, domain renewals, business-data exports and any transition assistance are handled according to the MDH Terms of Service.
Can the website become bigger later?
Yes, subject to a scope and capacity assessment. Adding products within supported capacity is different from asking MDH to enter them or changing the buyer model. Growth, Advanced or quoted additions may be appropriate.
Is every part of my data stored in Canada?
Canadian website hosting is not a promise that every backup, payment, email, analytics or software service is Canadian-only. The applicable service and privacy information must explain relevant external processing.
When will my website launch?
We'll agree on a target launch date after confirming your website scope and receiving the information needed to begin.
You'll have an opportunity to review your website privately and request any corrections included in your package before launch.
Your website will only be published after you give explicit approval. Outstanding information, approvals, domain changes or third-party verification may affect the agreed schedule.
A clear next step
Start with a website that fits your business.
Review the demo, tell us how your buyers order and confirm the right scope before implementation. You will know what is included, what you need to provide and where additional work would require a quotation.
